Language courses at the ZFA/RUB
A contingent of places in courses at the Center for Foreign Language Education (ZFA) at Ruhr-Universität Bochum is reserved for UW/H students. A total of 30 places are available. When allocating places, priority will be given to students who are planning a stay abroad.
You can register via the link: http://www.zfa.rub.de/lehre/anmeldung/index.html.de.
For organizational reasons, emails MUST be sent from your official UW/H email account (Vorname.Name@uni-wh.de). Emails from private or other email senders will not be accepted for the UW/H contingent. Please follow the instructions there for registration!
The relevant details for your chosen course can be found in the ZFA course catalog at: http://www.zfa.rub.de/index.html.de.
Here you can also see for which day and time the desired course is planned. Please also consider your commitments during the semester when making your selection!
Several requests can be made, the final selection will depend on the availability of places in the individual courses.
Further information on language courses, contact and arrival can be found online at: http://www.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/zfa/.
A placement test is compulsory for many courses! You can only apply for the course level determined in the placement test. Dates and registration modalities for the placement tests can be found here: http://www.zfa.rub.de/lehre/einstufung/termineeinstufungen.html.de.
Each UW/H student can only attend one course from the UW/H contingent. (It is possible to attend further courses, but you will have to pay for them.) In the first lesson, you confirm your participation in the course to the lecturer, otherwise your place will be forfeited.
You have 2 options for completing a language course at RUB:
- a graded certificate of achievement = at least 75% participation in the course and passing the final exam
- an ungraded certificate of achievement = at least 75% participation in the course
Please note: if you wish to use the language course for a stay abroad, a graded certificate of achievement is required!
The language certificates will be sent to you electronically by RUB after the end of the course or after the last exam.
As soon as you have received the certificate of achievement (ungraded or graded) from the RUB, please send it to international-office@ uni-wh.de without being asked.
!!! If you are unable to submit proof of completion due to a course dropout or excessive absences, we are obliged to charge you the costs incurred by UW/H of 120 euros per place !!!
UW/H students will receive information on registration deadlines by e-mail.
If you have any questions, please contact us at international-office@ uni-wh.de.
