SmartCard

General information

The SmartCard can be used outside regular opening hours as a key for the campus building, the new building and the Stockumer Str. 10/12 building.

The card can also be used to

  • copying
  • printing
  • scanning
  • Faxing at the multifunctional devices*
  • Payment* in the cafeteria & snack vending machines

used.

* You will find them on campus, in the new building, in Stockumer Str., in the ZBZ and in the FEZ. Further information on the multifunction printers can be found on the Printing, copying, scanning page.

* The credit can be topped up cashless at the cafeteria cash desk. There is also a Smardcard machine near the Cafteria (cash only).

Where do you get your first SmartCard?

As a student, you will receive your SmartCard after enrollment at the University's Office of Student Affairs. For more information on how to pick up your SmartCard, please contact them.

As an employee, you will receive your SmartCard together with the access data to our IT systems at BIT. If you have any questions about this, please use our support formor send us an e-mail to the address BIT-Support@spam protectuni-wh.de.

You are a guest at this university and need a guest SmartCard? In this case please contact your contact person at the dean's office of the university.

Pick up (replacement) SmartCard

As soon as you have received the confirmation email from us about the completion of the new card, you can pick it up daily between 14:00 and 16:00 in the BIT. You will find us in the basement of building part G (room U.412).

If you have a paid card, please bring the receipt from the info/post office with you to pick it up.

Would you like to view your Smartcard account?

After logging in to https://print.uni-wh.de, you can view your current account balance and all account transactions with the Hochschulwerk - your purchases in the cafeteria, chargeable print and copy jobs (students) and other debits.

You can view your print, copy and scan jobs on all central printer devices ("Recent print jobs") and your print jobs still waiting to be released ("Jobs awaiting release").

You can use the "Filter" button to restrict the display of debits or print jobs to a specific time period or to a specific device/printer (five-digit device number).

Please note that for security reasons, this portal can only be accessed from the university LAN (cable), the eduroam WLAN or uwh-guest WLAN, i.e. not from the internet!

Would you like to top up your Smartcard account?

The credit can be topped up at the cafeteria cash desk using cash, debit or credit card. There are also SmartCard top-up machines in the cafeteria and Café Larix, where credit can only be topped up with cash. It is also possible to load credit onto the SmartCard via PayPal.

This is how it works:

- Login to the university network via eduroam or uwh-guest
- Go to https://print.uni-wh.de/user
- Login with the university login data
- Top up credit under 'Add Credit (PayPal)'

The amount topped up will be available on the SmartCard after approx. two minutes.

Apply for a replacement SmartCard - Students

  • If your SmartCard is lost or defective, you can request a replacement card via our support formor the e-mail address BIT-Support@spam protectuni-wh.de.
  • In case of a lost card, a handling fee of 25€ will be charged. If your card is defective and less than three years old, the processing fee will also be charged.
  • The fee must be deposited at the Info/Post Office of the university before picking up the card. There you will receive a receipt against which you can pick up the card from us at BIT as soon as you receive an email about the completion of the replacement card.
  • The cafeteria credit will not be lost. As soon as you have registered your new card at one of the multifunction printers of the University Office (1st floor, above the cafeteria) (login with username and password), your credit will be directly available again.
  • It may take up to five business days to create the new card.
  • Pick up new SmartCard

Request replacement SmartCard - Employees

  • If your SmartCard is lost or defective, you can request a replacement card via our support formor the e-mail address BIT-Support@spam protectuni-wh.de.
  • In case of a lost card, a handling fee of 25€ will be charged. If your card is defective and less than three years old, the processing fee will also be charged.

  • The creation of the new card may take up to five business days.
