Staff telephone (Cisco 8841)
Using the phone
The phone works like a normal phone. However, making calls is easier. You can use your phone like any other phone to make calls.
Procedure
Enter a number and pick up the handset.
Use the loudspeaker for hands-free talking. Note that your colleagues can also hear your call.
Procedure
Step 1 Enter a number using the keypad.
Step 2 Press the loudspeaker icon.
You can send an incoming call to your voicemail system (if configured) or to a predefined phone number. If this feature is not set up, the call will be rejected and the caller will hear a busy signal.
Procedure
To reject a call, do one of the following:
- Press Reject.
- If there are multiple incoming calls, highlight the incoming call and press Reject.
Use DND (Do Not Disturb) to turn off your phone's call signal and ignore incoming calls.
If you activate DND, incoming calls are forwarded to another number, for example to your voicemail (if configured).
When DND is activated, the colour of the headline area of the phone display changes and Do Not Disturb is shown.
When you activate DND, all lines on your phone are affected. However, intercom calls and emergency calls will still go through when DND is activated.
If MLPP (priority calling) is set up for your phone, priority calls will trigger a special ring tone on your phone even if DND is on.
Procedure
Step 1 Press Do Not Disturb to activate DND.
