Please let us know if you are missing something:
Students can apply for compensation for disadvantages if they have a chronic illness, disability or other impairment that could potentially put them at a disadvantage in examination situations or during their studies. Compensation for disadvantages creates the most equal starting conditions and opportunities for everyone. No advantage is designed for students with chronic illnesses, disabilities or other impairments. For further information or advice on this topic, please get in touch with the (deputy) Equal Opportunities and Diversity Officer at gleichstellungsbeauftragte@ uni-wh.de.
So, as you know, granting compensation for disadvantages is always an individual measure based on the assessment of the respective case. There is, therefore, no general entitlement to this.
he university buildings are designed to be barrier-free. If you encounter situations or circumstances that hinder you, please let us know! We will look for solutions together and can thus help to ensure that students in later years encounter even fewer barriers. If you are looking for contact with fellow students with disabilities, chronic illnesses or neurodivergence, please come to our exchange room! Here you can empower each other and discuss experiences or tips for your studies. The next dates are as follows:

At the UW/H, we have developed an official guideline for implementing gender-sensitive language. This guideline is available in a short version and a more detailed document and supports all university employees who want to address the topic.
Regular training courses on implementing discrimination and gender-sensitive language are offered to UW/H employees.
At the UW/H, all students and employees should have the opportunity to be addressed with their correct name and gender and also be formally entered in the databases. Therefore, there is the option to have this information officially adjusted.
Guideline Transition Process.
At UW/H, we understand the importance of support for those who perform care work. That's why the (deputy) Equal Opportunities and Diversity Officer is always available to address your individual needs. Feel free to reach out at any time.
A parent-child room has been set up in the new building (room NB 1.025), which offers the opportunity to bring children to the place of work or study and look after them for a short time in case of childcare emergencies. The room has a workstation (including an internet connection) and a play area, which can be used for working or reading while the child plays or sleeps. The key to the EKiR can be borrowed from the information/post office (campus building, Alfred-Herrhausen-Str. 50) (opening hours are weekdays from 8:00 - 16:00). The room can also be booked via the room booking system UWE. Further information can be found in the usage regulations.
There is also a daycare centre on campus and opportunities for part-time employment and mobile work.
