The Quality Management department oversees various processes for ongoing quality assurance and improvement at UW/H. One of its core tasks is the coordination and supervision of the program (re-)accreditation of degree programs as well as the institutional re-accreditation of the UW/H by the German Council of Science and Humanities. In addition, the department collects various quality-related data from the service areas associated with studies, teaching and research.

The department supports all internal and external evaluation activities. It is also responsible for controlling the action plans and target agreements between the Executive Board and the faculties/departments derived from the evaluation procedures in accordance with the applicable evaluation regulations.

Furthermore, it supports the course evaluation in UWE, centrally coordinates the CHE University Ranking and the benchmarking platform "EHESO", as well as the graduate survey (KOAB), the doctoral student survey (NACAPS) and the DZHW student survey.

In addition, the department is involved in the quality assurance of the UW/H university bibliography as part of the editorial team.
