Windows Mail
Windows Mail provides you with the most important functions for working with e-mails and calendar of your UWH mailbox, and is thus a kind of Outlook with a greatly reduced range of functions. You can access your e-mails, calendar entries, the UWH address book and some special features like automatic replies when you are absent, but e.g. access to team mailboxes, categories or the contacts of your mailbox is *not* possible. In many cases, however, you may not notice these restrictions as such.
How to set up the connection to your UWH mailbox in Windows Mail:
- If you are launching Mail for the first time, you will be offered "Add Account" immediately, otherwise click on the menu icon in the upper left, then click on "Accounts" then "Add Account" on the right.
- Select "Exchange" as the account type.
- Now enter your UWH username in the form uwh\username. The software will take a moment to identify you to our server.
- Then enter your password.
In case you miss features in Windows Mail that you know from Outlook or Outlook Web Access: All students and employees of the UW/H can use the complete office package, which includes the latest Outlook version, free of charge. You can find more details here.
