Data Management Plans (DMP): Structured planning for handling research data

Time
Location Online
Organizer UA Ruhr

The latest call for proposals from a funding body sounds just right, but statements on the handling of research data are required? The colleague has left the institution and has not documented his/her knowledge so that nobody knows exactly what data can be found where? The data collected just last week cannot be found?

For researchers who are familiar with these situations and are looking for a solution, a data management plan (DMP) can help.

In this 2-hour online workshop, participants will learn, on the one hand, how to recognize that the funding body requires statements on the handling of research data and how to use checklists and templates to identify which information belongs in a data management plan. On the other hand, the workshop teaches how to use the RDMO (Research Data Management Organizer) tool, which can be used to create DMPs.
Last but not least, participants will learn why it is worth preparing a DMP, so that the situations described above no longer occur - even if the funding body does not require it.

Basic knowledge of research data management is a prerequisite for participation.

The event is offered by the UA Ruhr and is primarily aimed at members of the three universities (Ruhr University Bochum, Dortmund University of Technology and University of Duisburg-Essen) and their associated institutions. Interested parties from the UW/H can also take part.

You can register online.
