For the fourth time since its inception, the choir and orchestra of Witten/Herdecke University with University Music Director Ingo Ernst Reihl are devoting themselves to the large, full-length oratorio Paulus op. 36 by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. In this work, the composer describes the conversion and ministry of the apostle Paul in impressive, monumental sound forms. First performed in 1836, the work is considered a milestone in the art of Romantic oratorio. The choir and orchestra of Witten/Herdecke University will be joined by the 5th grade of the Rudolf Steiner School Bochum (children's choir), as well as soloists Elena So (soprano), Franziska Orendi (alto), Hyeok Park (tenor) and Almas Svilpa (bass-baritone).
