Hand in hand for democracy and cohesion - knitting café

In cooperation with Zeit für Solidarität e. V., a creative meeting space is being created at Witten/Herdecke University that brings community to life. In an open and inviting atmosphere, democracy is not only discussed, but experienced together.

The participants knit scarves together, which are given away to people in need in Witten in the fall and winter - a visible sign of lived solidarity.

At the same time, an open stage offers space for exchange: thoughts, wishes and ideas about social cohesion and democratic coexistence can be shared and further developed here.

In this way, the knitting café combines creative action with community involvement and strengthens the feeling of being part of an active, solidary society.

The knitting cafè is part of a series of events by Witten/Herdecke University to mark Constitution Day. During the campaign period from 16 to 31 May, the various events will focus on democracy, participation and social cohesion.

The event is free of charge.
