Support for Four Students Following an Apartment Fire
On Saturday, September 26, a residential building on Heuweg in Witten-Stockum burned down. The fire also affected the HeuWG, where four UW/H students had most recently been living and which had been home to students from our university for decades.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire. However, the four students lost nearly all of their belongings—including clothing, furniture, personal documents, and laptops they need for their studies and training. It is currently unclear whether and to what extent insurance will cover the resulting damage.
To help the four students get back on their feet, friends of the shared apartment have launched a fundraising campaign. The goal is to raise 20,000 euros. The donations will go directly to the shared apartment and will be divided equally among the four students. The money will first be used to replace the items they urgently need for daily life and their studies.

Every contribution helps.
If you’re unable to donate yourself, you can still support the four by sharing the fundraising appeal within your own network.
Thank you very much for your support and solidarity.
