Stufu Slam celebrates successful premiere in the summer semester

On April 16, 2026, the "Stufu Slam" took place for the first time at B63 in downtown Witten as the kick-off event of the summer semester. The WittenLab. Zukunftslabor Studium fundamentale presented selected results from seminars from the previous winter semester - in a creative, varied and entertaining way. Around 40 students, lecturers and interested parties came together for around two hours for a relaxed exchange.

The event was organized and moderated by Alexander Jakobidze-Gitman (research assistant at WittenLab), who brought together the contributions from lecturers and students in a dialogical format. Questions from the audience rounded off the presentations.

From music to monologue

Ludger Schmidt and his son kicked off the event with Ukrainian music for accordion and cello. Schmidt then reported on his seminar "Free music improvisation: jazz in a broader sense", in which students with and without previous experience work together musically and regularly present their results in the Music Club.

David Zieglmaier's theater group presented scenes from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream", which will be performed at the UW/H in June. The students gave insights into the rehearsal work and the democratic process of selecting the play.

Ulrich Land presented texts from the "Creative Writing" seminar as well as excerpts from self-produced radio plays. The focus was on creative processes and teamwork in artistic work.

Finally, students from the seminar "My Little Big Story" by Jan Hinrik Drevs impressively told personal stories on the overarching theme of "The First Time" and reflected on the intensive creative writing and presentation process.

The Stufu Slam thus offered a lively insight into the diversity of Studiums fundamentale and is to be continued in future as a fixed series at the start of the semester.
