For the opening of the summer semester 2026, the WittenLab. Zukunftslabor Studium fundamentale is organizing a two-day program for UW/H lecturers, but also for students and Witten citizens.
It offers interested parties the opportunity to gain insights into new interdisciplinary didactic developments and current issues and at the same time to reflect together on teaching in the "Stufu" (Studium fundamentale).

Thursday, April 16, 2026, 11:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Lecturers' colloquium for UW/H lecturers: "University teaching in a balancing act: imparting subject-specific knowledge in interdisciplinary contexts"
The colloquium begins with two keynote speeches by invited speakers:
- Frauke Domgörgen (Rhine-Ruhr Center for Science Communication Research: "Communicative practices in the podcast format"
- Inga Dreyer (Wissenschaftskommunikation.de & Karlsruhe Institute of Technology): "In the balancing act? Science communication between technical language and comprehensibility"
Finally, the workshop "Transformative learning through didactic reduction - How to turn a wealth of material into real learning" will take place under the direction of Jan Smetana (lecturer for university didactics, UW/H). In a joint exchange, teaching methods developed across disciplines, the handling of heterogeneous groups and individually tested didactic strategies will be made visible and discussed.

"Stufu Slam":
This event, which takes place at B63 on Bahnhofstraße, is aimed at the general public and cordially invites all interested parties. At this first Stufu-Slam of the WittenLab. Zukunftslabor Studium fundamentale, selected results from Stufu seminars from the past winter semester will be presented - in a surprising, creative and entertaining way.

"FutureLab Workshop"
The "FutureLab Workshop" is aimed at UW/H lecturers and deals with the question "How can shaping the future and social transformation be more strongly integrated into Stufu seminars?"
Under the title "Futuring Stufu! How many futures can & should Stufu?", transdisciplinary impulses and insights into projects from the field of futures design will be presented.
This will be followed by a practice-oriented workshop in cooperation with the Berlin Network for Critical Futures Studies.
