The lecture series has been an integral part of the WIFU calendar since 2009 and usually takes place three times per semester. "The broad discussion of research results between different scientific disciplines, professions and in business practice has a long tradition at WIFU," says Prof. Dr. Heiko Kleve, Academic Director of WIFU. "Scientific accuracy and entrepreneurial relevance can complement each other and do not have to be played off against each other."

The dominant paradigm of current medicine is the machine paradigm, mechanistic-reductionist, man as machine. A new paradigm, on the other hand, is biopsychosocial, holistic, and based on biosemiotic-systemic considerations. In other words, all areas of human existence - biological, psychological and social - are interconnected and how human processes are carried out depends on conscious and unconscious attributions of meaning. This is where fractal geometry comes into play. Fractal geometry is used to mathematically describe non-linear natural phenomena, usually material natural phenomena (trees, rivers, mountains, etc.). However, if nature is seen as holistic, i.e. the material and immaterial are inextricably interwoven, then there must also be a fractal geometry of the soul. In psychodiagnostic/therapeutic processes, repetitive patterns are noticeable, even when working with family businesses. This lecture by Prof. Dr. Christian Schubert (Medical University of Innsbruck) is intended to provide an introduction to the geometry of the soul and illustrate the added value that fractal diagnostics and therapy can have for working with companies.
