The Mind-Body Medicine Research Council (MBMRC) and the Institute for Integrative Health Care and Health Promotion (IGVF) are pleased to announce the successful joint organization of the first International Scientific Conference on Mind-Body Medicine (ISC-MBM). The hybrid conference, which had been planned for a long time under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. Tobias Esch, took place on November 4 and 5 in the new building of our university and was broadcast virtually for online participants. The organizers welcomed almost 90 leading experts from the fields of science, medicine and psychology, among others, to jointly explore the latest findings and innovations in mind-body research. The two-day conference included an extensive program of lively conversations, interactive presentations and plenty of opportunities for networking and socializing. Our conference topics ranged from the effects of mind-body practices on mental and physical health, to the neurobiology of mindfulness and stress resilience, to the effectiveness of mind-body interventions for both indication-specific symptoms and the promotion of general well-being. In addition to the two keynote speeches by George B. Stefano (Prague University) and Sara Lazar (Harvard University), a highlight was the panel discussion on "Digital Mind-Body Medicine - Consciousness between Tradition and Future", which will be published soon in the podcast "Einsatz Wagen" by Healthcare Futurists. We would like to thank everyone whose efforts and enthusiasm contributed to making our ISC-MBM a success and look forward to its continuation.
