Dear employees, dear students,
Last year, 33 tons of residual waste were disposed of at the main campus and almost 19 tons of paper were collected for recycling. We are on the right track!
But there is still more to do: because there is still a lot of paper in the residual waste. If we separate this even more consistently, it can be recycled - saving wood, energy and costs. By making a small change in our everyday lives, we can make a noticeable contribution to protecting the climate and conserving resources.
That's why we want to draw attention to our simple and uniform waste separation system in the wood and main building - in the offices, study rooms and student kitchens - which is already being used well and will soon be transferred to other locations.
In the offices there is
- a waste paper basket (gray bin) for waste paper
- an insert for other waste
The wastepaper bin is emptied as usual by the cleaning team. We ask that you dispose of the waste from the insert yourself in the collection points in the tea kitchens.
Recycling bins are also available at central locations. You can separate waste there as follows
- Plastic/packaging - packaging of all types except paper/cardboard (also without Green Dot)
- Residual waste - non-recyclable waste, due to the small quantities also organic waste (no toxic waste)
- Paper waste - paper and cardboard
Why it's worth it:
Thanks to clean separation, we can reduce the disposal costs for expensive residual waste to almost zero - and save valuable resources at the same time.
