Dear members of the university,

This year's city cycling competition starts in Witten on May 1, 2026. The aim of the competition is to cycle as many everyday journeys as possible in a climate-friendly way. During last year's campaign, UW/H members cycled a total of more than 17,000 kilometers, increasing the distance by 3,000 km compared to the previous year. Can we top that again this year?

You can register now!

You can register for the "Uni Witten/Herdecke" team on this website under "Witten". Within the UW/H team, you can form sub-teams and compete with colleagues or fellow students from other teams. To create a sub-team, select "Create or enlarge team" and then "Create new sub-team". For fame and honor, there will again be a small internal university competition among all active cyclists. This year, the three teams with the most creative team names will be especially honored !

The most hard-working UW/H cyclists can also look forward to bike prizes from, among others:

• Busch+Müller, IXON Core 2 battery-powered headlights
• vit:bikes, bike store in the UW/H neighborhood, Pferdebachstraße 84b
• Metal Motion Bikes, bike store in Herbede, Vormholzer Str. 2a
• Alnatura and Hochschulwerk: snacks and drinks for the calories consumed
• WirGemüse: organic vegetable box

All registered UW/H participants who have covered at least 5 km will also be entered into a prize draw and have the chance to win a prize.

So don't forget: Register your kilometers!

Bike workshop at the Bike Station on campus

By the way: The Wabe Bike Station will be coming to campus on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to repair bicycles for a small fee. The mobile repair workshop offers, among other things, a quick check with a focus on brakes, gears and tires - you only pay for what is actually repaired or replaced.
