On this evening, the junge orchester NRW will give a symphony concert together with Lilian Eicks (saxophone) and Ingo Ernst Reihl (conductor). Together they will present the following three musical works:
- Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis (1875-1911): "Miške" (In the Forest),
- Alexander Glazunov (1865-1936): Saxophone Concerto in E flat major op. 109
- Modest Mussorgsky (1839-1881) / Maurice Ravel (1875-1937): "Pictures at an Exhibition"
All three works testify to the search for forms of expression that allow the eye to hear and the ear to see. "KlangBilder" turns music into painting - and painting into music. From Čiurlionis' mystical panorama of nature to Glasunov's colorful, string-specific sound spectrum to Mussorgsky's and Ravel's musical gallery, an arc spans that transcends the boundaries of the arts. The concert invites the audience to experience the world of sound as a gallery of listening - an evening in which images resound and sounds shine.
Admission costs 15 euros. Admission is free for pupils and students. Tickets are available at the box office.
