10 years of the Room of Silence - participation desired!

Since 2015, the Room of Silence (RdS) has offered all members of the university the opportunity to integrate moments of peace and mindfulness into the often busy everyday life of the university. The room, which is located on the first floor of the new building, is used for meditation, yoga, quiet contemplation or even open taster sessions.

Become part of the core team - for the continued existence and further development of the Room of Silence

What many people don't know: The Room of Silence is a student initiative that was launched ten years ago with a great deal of commitment from students and teaching staff. To ensure that it continues to exist - and does not fall victim to the general shortage of space - it needs people who are committed to it. The core team is currently urgently looking for reinforcements, as some of the existing volunteers have already completed their studies.

Why get involved?

  • Do you regularly use the space yourself - e.g. for breaks, courses or to retreat?
  • Do you think it is important that places for mindfulness and slowing down remain at the university?
  • Do you have ideas on how to develop the space further or introduce new formats?

Then become part of the core team!

Depending on your interest and time, the effort required is only a few hours per semester. Possible tasks in the core team:

  • Program design (e.g. courses, open offers)
  • Support of the RdS e-mail address
  • Support with registrations and activations
  • Co-decision on event offers
  • Maintenance and design of the room
  • Organization of special events
  • Participation in introductory workshops for first-year students
  • Presence at the "Market of Opportunities"
  • Exchange with other initiatives as part of the initiative lab
  • Developing new ideas and formats
