In accordance with the regulations of our university's Basic Regulations, the position of Equal Opportunities & Diversity Officer is to be filled by an election in the Senate for a period of three years. This will be prepared by a search committee consisting of four voting members of the Senate and one member of the Executive Board. The position must be advertised within the university. The position is currently vacant and must therefore be filled as soon as possible. The search committee asks all colleagues interested in this position to apply by April 7, 2025 with a letter of motivation including a presentation of their own ideas (approx. two A4 pages) for this important and interesting elective office by e-mail to findungskommission_guv@ uni-wh.de to apply.
About the role: The Equal Opportunities and Diversity Officer represents the interests of women, minorities and potentially disadvantaged groups who are members or affiliates of the university. Together with the deputies, he or she works towards the inclusion of relevant aspects of equality and diversity in the fulfillment of the university's tasks, in particular with regard to studies, teaching and research as well as development planning. To this end, he or she may attend meetings of the Senate, the faculties, the appointment committees and other bodies with the right to propose motions and speak; he or she must be invited and informed in the same way as a member. The representative and the deputies are not subject to directives when carrying out their work for equality and diversity and report to the responsible member of the Executive Board. The function is designed as a 50% position.
The following timeline is planned for the search process:
- 03.03.2025 - 07.04.2025: Application period
- 23.04.2025 from 14:00 - 16:00: Interviews with the search committee
- afterwards: Communication to the applicants and the university public
