Apply now! Board of Trustees awards highly endowed grants again in 2025.
The Board of Trustees of Witten/Herdecke University is once again awarding its highly endowed funding competition! Both student initiatives and lecturers who want to implement a scientific project can submit ideas and apply for funding.
The Board of Trustees, as the central funding body of the UW/H, will once again support scientific projects with funding of up to 20,000 euros in 2025. The call for proposals is aimed at exceptional academic projects and student initiatives. The funding can be used, for example, for a research project at a department, for a scientific survey in connection with a doctorate or for larger ideas that student initiatives would like to implement.
The funding competition at a glance:
- Lecturers and official student initiatives at UW/H are eligible to apply. Funding for lecturers is strictly linked to the implementation of an academic (research) project. Staff positions, scholarships or similar are not supported. Student initiatives can apply with ideas that promote civic engagement.
- There are three competition categories to choose from:
1. projects in the field of health
2. projects from the field of business and society
3. projects that involve various specialist areas on an interdisciplinary basis
Important: Each application must fall into one of these three categories.
- Funding of between10,000 and 20,000 euros will be awarded per category.
- The written application outline in accordance with the tender documents must be submitted in full by February 3, 2025 (see application and contact).
- Project pitch: A pre-selection will be made from the applications submitted. The selected candidates will then have the opportunity to present their project in five-minute presentations at the spring meeting of the Board of Trustees in May 2025. A decision will then be made as to which project will receive funding.
- The project duration may not exceed two years.
