This is how Anton Müller, 3rd year apprentice, describes the motivation of this year's UW/H apprentice team to donate the proceeds of the Christmas raffle to Lebenshilfe Witten e. V.. A total of 2,500 euros was collected - a result that the entire team was delighted with.
"Lebenshilfe Witten has been committed to inclusion for years - we want to actively promote this," adds Anton. The enthusiasm about supporting something directly useful in Witten with the donation was clearly noticeable throughout the handover.
Lucie Jabs from the second year of training also underlines the importance of the association's work: "I think Lebenshilfe's concept for outpatient assisted living is very important, as people with intellectual disabilities receive individual support here and can experience normality and neighbourliness together."
The handover of the symbolic cheque on December 10 to the two managing directors of Lebenshilfe Witten e. V., Christian Thies and Markus Geiseler, as well as the deputy chairwoman of the board, Linda Titze, was a wonderful moment for everyone involved. The representatives of Lebenshilfe Witten were extremely grateful for the support, which directly strengthens their important work.
Some of the trainees were able to attend the handover in person. The entire team includes Elanur Erdem and Anton Müller from the 3rd year of training, Hanna Hölscher, Lisa-Marie Russotto, Lucie Jabs and Bennet Geldmacher from the 2nd year of training and Lina Kürten and Merve Melisa Gülen from the 1st year of training.
