A Successful Start for Our New Trainees

On August 3, ten young people began their apprenticeships at UW/H. Two of them are training to become office management assistants and will gain experience in various areas of administration over the next three years. Eight others are completing their apprenticeships as dental assistants and gaining practical experience at the dental clinic.

The first day of training was all about getting to know one another and orientation. Chancellor Jan Peter Nonnenkamp warmly welcomed the new trainees to UW/H, and Matthias Dreischulte, Deputy Director of Human Resources, gave an introduction to the university. The program was rounded out by presentations on fire safety, data protection, and occupational safety, as well as an introduction to the works council’s training representatives. A group lunch provided an opportunity for personal interaction before the new colleagues got to know their respective work areas.

There is great anticipation for the years ahead. Burcu Sögüt, one of the new trainees, sums up her expectations: “I’m really looking forward to working together.”

For over 40 years, Witten/Herdecke University has been committed to training young people and supporting them on their career paths. We are delighted to welcome our new trainees to UWH and wish them a successful start, many valuable experiences, and an exciting training period.
