Study on the Experience of Belonging in Germany

How do people in Germany experience a sense of connection—with other people, their environment, and their own lives? The Institute for Integrative Health Care and Health Promotion (IGVF) at Witten/Herdecke University, led by Prof. Tobias Esch, is exploring this question in a recent scientific study.

A sense of connection is considered an important factor for well-being, resilience, and a meaningful life. It influences how we cope with challenges, shape relationships, and perceive our place in the world. At the same time, little is currently known about how people actually experience and prioritize the various forms of connection.

Participants are being sought for the study. The online survey takes about five minutes to complete, is voluntary, and is completely anonymous. The data collected will be used exclusively for scientific purposes.

By participating, you’ll be supporting research on a topic that is of great importance for both individual well-being and social cohesion. Every participation helps us gain a nuanced understanding of what connects people, strengthens them, and provides them with a sense of direction.
