In this episode, we talk to members of the Wanderful project at Witten/Herdecke University on the UW/Hörfunk podcast. Every year, this student initiative takes secondary school students from Bochum on a wonderful adventure, a 12-day hike in another European country. Under the motto: "Out of school - into nature", the students are to train social interaction far away from school and family, improve their self-esteem and broaden their horizons of experience by traveling to a foreign country. For many of the students, the trip is literally new territory.
Psychology students Aljosha and Leonard talk about why this trip is not only an adventure in nature, but also a real learning journey for the students and also for the participating students. They talk about the concept of the initiative, about many special and emotional moments and tell you what initiative work at Wanderful is all about and how you can get involved if you want to participate.
