Film: Eating differently - the experiment

Time
Location B63, Bahnhofstraße 63, 58452 Witten
Organizer Projekt Feldversuch

The way we eat is a burden on the climate. But how big is the CO2 burden really? And what does cattle farming here have to do with soy farmers in Brazil? For the film "Anders essen - Das Experiment" by Kurt Langbein, a field is planted for the first time with precisely those grains, vegetables, fruits, oilseeds and grasses that end up on our plates per person - and which the industry processes into animal feed, among other things. The result is a field 4,400 m2 in size, the area of a small soccer pitch, which on average every person in western industrialized nations needs. Two thirds of this is abroad. Overall, we consume twice as much as we are entitled to: If everyone ate like this, we would need a second earth.

Can anything be done to change this? Three families dare to try it out for themselves. They start shopping regionally and rediscover cooking. The result is surprising. Eating differently not only changes our land consumption and CO2 footprint.

An experiment that is encouraging. A film that shows how it could be done.

On the occasion of the Field Trial Action Week, the Field Trial project team invites all interested parties to discuss the possibilities of a local food transition after the film.
