Corona-Update: Semesterstart

Dear University Community,

On October 6, we officially kick off the new semester with the Market of Opportunities. We are looking forward to inspiring exchange, wonderful cultural enjoyment and a full campus hall. In order for us to start the new semester carefree, healthy and full of energy, we would like to hereby draw your attention to the current Corona situation at UW/H.

General regulations at the UW/H

  • Basically, there are no restrictions at the moment. You can decide for yourself whether or not you want to wear a Corona protection mask and move freely in the UW/H buildings. Separate regulations apply to employees and students working in the outpatient clinics and hospitals.
  • We recommend wearing an FFP2 mask in areas and situations with close proximity to others.
  • In general, if it has been more than six months since your last vaccination or Corona infection, protect yourself with a mask, especially in situations where many people congregate. The risk of infection will increase sharply in the coming weeks.
  • In addition, we recommend regular hand washing with soap and water or with suitable disinfectant.
  • Persons with symptoms (fever, cough, cold, headache) must stay away from the campus and events or leave them immediately.
  • Regular airing of all rooms.

If you have any questions or uncertainties, please contact us at corona@spam protectuni-wh.de.

Vaccination possibility in the university outpatient clinic

Are you interested in a vaccination against the Corona virus?

You can also make use of the vaccination offer of the University Outpatient Clinic - regardless of whether you are a patient there or not. You can find information on the following website: https://www.uniambulanz-witten.de/covid-impfung/

You would like to get general information about vaccination just in time for the cold season? We would like to recommend the WAZ podcast with Prof. Weckbecker from the Chair of General Medicine: https://bit.ly/3dSXfQW.

As usual, we will inform you about current developments and, if necessary, changes in the regulations by e-mail. We wish all new and old university members a healthy start into the winter semester 2022/2023.

With kind regards

For the Corona Task Force
