Witten/Herdecke University introduces the 9-euro ticket for employees

Everyone is talking about the Deutschlandticket, which is to be launched nationwide on May 1 - the federal and state governments have agreed on 49 euros for the offer. At UW/H, we are going one step further and reintroducing the 9-euro ticket!

Starting in May, we will enable all employees who use public transportation to get to work to use the Deutschlandticket as a job ticket for 9 euros. The university will subsidize the ticket with 37.55 euros (instead of 20 euros as before), and BOGESTRA will contribute 2.45 euros.

In this way, we want to support you in being as climate-neutral and cost-effective as possible in your mobility. At the same time, we are taking another consistent step on our mission to contribute to a sustainable and just transformation of our society.

We would be delighted if as many of you as possible took advantage of this offer!

The concrete product features of the Deutschlandticket are:

  • usable nationwide in the entire ÖPNV and SPNV (no IC/ICE)
  • can only be used personally
  • no bicycle transport
  • no passenger transport (children under 6 years travel free of charge)
  • no use in 1st class
  • optional bicycle transport can be booked (costs 29 €)
  • optionally a first class surcharge can be booked (according to the current state of affairs 46 €)

If you are interested in the Deutschlandticket as a 9-Euro-Jobticket, you will find all further information on the intranet.(Note: Temporary employees who are paid on an hourly basis are excluded from the scheme as before; as a rule, students who have a semester ticket are employed).

Information for holders of a job ticket:

BOGESTRA has informed us that holders of a job ticket will be automatically switched to the Deutschlandticket. Subscribers will be informed separately, but do not need to take any further action.

In our mobility portal, you will also find many other attractive offers for the use and promotion of sustainable mobility, including, for example, information on free e-car sharing for business trips or on the e-load bike.
