Emergency medicine represents a relevant and important component of medical practice; nevertheless, its importance in medical studies is very low.
An important part of emergency medicine training is the interdisciplinary cooperation with rescue service staff, firefighters and other professional groups. This cooperation and understanding of each other is difficult to convey in theory. As a participant in the Witten Emergency Medical Day, you will have the opportunity to practice this cooperation in practical case studies, such as rescuing a person after a traffic accident or a rescue using a turntable ladder. In addition to interdisciplinary cooperation, the focus of the planned event is in particular on preclinical emergency care in special situations.
Similar events like the Elzach Emergency Day of the University of Freiburg showed a very high satisfaction of the participants, a pronounced learning success and a very good external effect by a special offer.
The idea and concept for the implementation of the 1st Witten Emergency Day for students and young doctors was developed in cooperation with the University of Witten/Herdecke, the Dortmund Clinic and the Witten Fire Department. These actors are also involved in the organization and implementation.
