Connect the dots: Cultivating serendipity for innovation, impact and good luck

Prof. Dr. Christian Busch is the bestselling author of "Connect the Dots" (German version: Erfolgsfaktor Zufall), "a smart, exciting and life-changing book" (Arianna Huffington, author) that "offers excellent practical guidance for all" (Paul Polman, former CEO of Unilever).

In his talk, he will share his latest research on how we can leverage the value of the unexpected to drive innovation, impact and happiness. His research at the USC Marshall School of Business and the London School of Economics (LSE) focuses on purposeful leadership, innovation and serendipity, or serendipitous discovery, and has been published in journals such as the Strategic Management Journal, the Journal of Management Studies and the Journal of Business Venturing. His work has been reported in Sloan Management Review, Harvard Business Review, the BBC, and Forbes, among others. He is also a guest author for Psychology Today. Previously, he was a lecturer at New York University. He is co-founder of Leaders on Purpose (an organization that brings together and advises purpose-driven CEOs) and Sandbox Network (a global community of young innovators), was co-director of the LSE's Innovation Lab, is a member of the World Economic Forum's Expert Forum, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and is on the Thinkers50 radar list of management thinkers "most likely to shape the future." Dr. Busch received his Ph.D. from the LSE.
