After 1998/99 and 2010/11, the choir, orchestra and university music director are dedicating themselves to Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's great oratorio "Elijah" for the third time this semester. With over 300 performers, the Witten ensemble will almost match the size of the first performance of the musico-dramatic work, which took place in Birmingham in 1846 under the direction of the composer.
The solo roles are played by top-class singers.
Elena So and Bettina Meiners (soprano)
Eva Marti (mezzo-soprano)
George Vîrban (tenor)
Tomas Kildišius (baritone)
The performance lasts 2 1/2 hours - with an interval.
Admission: 15 Euro / free for pupils, students and refugees
