What are the meaning of life, the essence of the world, and the position of man in the world? What can I know? What should I do? What can I hope? We want to philosophize, reflect, and speculate in this salon. The setting is Café Leye, directly in the pedestrian zone of downtown Witten. On our five evenings, we want to devote ourselves this time exclusively to texts by outstanding female philosophers.
On December 10, Dr. Eva Weiler will present a work by Silvia Federici, a feminist activist, professor emeritus, and writer. The Italian writer was born in Parma in 1942. In 1972, she co-founded the International Feminist Collective and advocated for the Wage for Domestic Work campaign, among others. From 1987 to 2005 she taught in the state of New York at Hofstra University.
