Research Day - Call for Abstracts

Dear Colleagues, dear Students,
dear University Community,

this year, for the first time, the University-wide Research Day will be held on 10/06/2023. We would like to experience an exciting day with all of you and enable scientific exchange between the faculties. We also want to think about how we can do even more research together in the future and which topics are significant beyond the boundaries of individual disciplines. Topics such as digitalization, sustainability, diversity or research methods may have the potential to enable an interdisciplinary discourse at UW/H – we are excited!

Such a day thrives on exciting insights into your current research projects. You get the chance to present your research projects to the whole university, to get feedback, to find new cooperation partners, or perhaps to practice presenting in a friendly and constructive environment.

We look forward to receiving abstracts from you briefly describing a research project that you would like to present. A scientific committee will select which of the submitted abstracts can be presented as a poster and which can be presented orally. Although your abstract will be rigorously reviewed scientifically, please note that your abstract and presentation should also be understandable across faculty and discipline so that we can facilitate true exchange. Scientifically correct AND generally understandable abstracts get a higher rating from the reviewers!

Please take advantage of this opportunity for university-wide exchange and submit a structured abstract on current projects with specific results no later than 09/13/2023.

Please use the attached Word file for submission and for further details on how to structure the abstract and send the abstract as a PDF to TdF@spam protectuni-wh.de. Selected submissions will be given special recognition, e. g. by being selected for an oral presentation or rewarded with a prize.

For the Research Day itself, a small preview: There will be exciting workshops on current topics, such as artificial intelligence in research. In addition, we will deal with science communication and test and learn the importance of science slams and pitches.

We look forward to your exciting topics!

Yours
