Especially in times of crisis, many existential questions arise about health, about security, about the meaning of life, about career prospects and about the compatibility of work and family. Yet everyday life often consumes us. Social media paralyzes us. We live into the day without getting to the bottom of these existential questions.
Living in the "here and now" is certainly en vogue. But if you consistently adopt this attitude, you run the risk of postponing decisions or making them purely intuitively.
But is this the right approach for the small and big decisions in life?
Our goal is to strengthen the famous gut feeling by giving it an analytical partner - strategic thinking. Strategize Your Life makes it its mission to apply the principles of strategic thinking used in the boardrooms of the world to your life.
In the course, you'll learn what strategic thinking and strategy mean in a business context, and apply both to your own life in 7 interactive sessions:
- Great Life: What makes a great life?
- Life Purpose: Find your purpose.
- Life Vision: What should your life look like in 5 to 10 years?
- Life Portfolio: Define and analyze your strategic life units.
- Life Scenario: Develop and evaluate different life scenarios.
- Life Action: Translate the selected scenario into clear goals and results.
- Life Change: Ensure sustainable implementation of these goals.
By the end of the course, you will have defined a first version of your life strategy - on one page. You study hundreds of hours for exams, you spend thousands of hours online, but we have probably never invested 10 hours on our own life strategy. We should do it before the 30,000 days are up.
The two-day workshop is a collaborative offering from UW/H Career Services and the Reinhard Mohn Institute for Management (RMI).
Who is the workshop for?
Students of all disciplines. Maximum of 50 participants. Language of the workshop is German.
Each participant commits to writing a 3-5 page reflection of the workshop on his/her life. All information shared by the participants in the workshop will be treated confidentially. This confidentiality - also among each other - is expected and assumed by all participants. The results of the questionnaire will only be analyzed and processed anonymously, as will later the 3-5 page reflection of the workshop.
ECTS points
After submission and review of the 3-5 page reflection of the workshop by Prof. Strack, it is also possible to receive one ECTS point for the participation in this workshop.
