New Representative for Equality and Diversity elected

Dr. Svenja Hartwig is the new Representative for Equality and Diversity at UW/H.

She has been working at Witten/Herdecke University since summer 2020 as a research assistant in the WittenLab, where she also teaches her own courses, especially in the areas of diversity/antidiscrimination/intersectional (queer) feminism. She always keeps the psychological aspects in mind, as this is her professional background: she earned her M. Sc. Psychology at WWU Münster and subsequently completed her doctorate at TU Dortmund University.

In the future, she would like to use her additional counseling training and experience even more for the UW/H and invite all university members to contact her at any time if they experience discrimination or need other counseling. She is also happy to receive tips about barriers or problematic structures and is looking forward to a lively exchange and to making the UW/H in her new position a bit more of an appreciative, discrimination-sensitive and barrier-free place for the entire university community. If you'd like to get to know Svenja Hartwig a little more personally, feel free to check out UW/H's Instagram channel.

According to the Basic Regulations (§§ 44), the Commissioner for Equality and Diversity is responsible for all matters concerning women, minorities and potentially disadvantaged groups who are members or affiliates of the university. She is also an advisory member of appointment committees and other university committees.
