UW/H Summer Party 2022

UW/H summer party – retrospective & thanks

After a three-year "forced break", the UW/H finally celebrated a big summer party again last Thursday. And if in the last two Corona years the question occasionally arose - "Have we possibly forgotten the lively celebration?" - then this party provided the answer: No, we have not: everyone together enjoyed this feast to the fullest and with great gratitude!

During the busy preparation days and still on the morning of June 23, the tension was extremely high: a 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms lay over the festival planning - and the weather app was called up almost every hour. Today, five days later, we know: Peter meant well with us - on one of the longest days, on one of the warmest evenings of the year, we met again in the best atmosphere with almost 2,500 guests in a large and open meeting space, which previously had to remain "closed" for a long time due to corona.

Once again, a small and incredibly dedicated core team took over the entire planning and organization for this day and prepared this festive day for all of us with impressive determination, discipline and attention to detail.

The Presidium would like to express its sincere thanks to Sabrina Seng, Ulrike Muhr, Julia Scheller and Laura Günther from the Presidium team - and to the two students Rafael Dietzel and Jonas Redecker, who did a great teamwork!

A huge thank you goes to more than 70 students, helpers and assistants who were involved in the preparation, the presence on the festival day and in the clean-up and follow-up work; to all colleagues of the cafeteria, who worked several extra shifts for this day, and to the colleagues of the building services, who were always ready for any form of help and problem solving.

Finally, the Presidium would like to thank all participants, partners, children and guests of the festival: This summer festival was celebrated extensively, happily, lively, enjoyable and at all times also appreciative and considerate. This is not a matter of course and for this too: thank you very much!

Under the following link you will find some first pictures and impressions of last Thursday.
