1600 euros were raised from the raffle at the UW/H employees' Christmas party. The UW/H trainees decided to donate this amount to the local Witten child protection association.
The non-profit association, which was founded in 1981 as a purely voluntary local association, campaigns for the rights of all children and young people to grow up free from violence. Parents are supported in their parenting skills and in their everyday lives through courses, advice and family support. Counseling is free of charge. The association is 70% funded by donations and has to manage without any state support.
Traditionally, the students organize the university's Christmas party. Each year, they are allowed to choose an organization to receive the proceeds from the Christmas raffle. This year, they deliberately chose the Kinderschutzbund (Child Protection Association), as they greatly appreciate the association's commitment to children in Witten and their parents. Every day, parents receive advice and support to ensure that children's right to the greatest possible development of their personality, talents and physical and mental abilities is guaranteed. Our trainees think this commitment is great.
