The climate crisis confronts humanity with a challenge of the century: the socio-ecological transformation of society. To accompany and advance this scientifically, the UW/H has founded the interfaculty research center tra:ce.

The Foundation Forum for Responsibility offers a scientific colloquium on the topic "Global Climate Neutrality 2050?!". Postgraduates (master's students as well as doctoral students) of all disciplines as well as bachelor's students who have started their final thesis can participate.

Following the Witten Sustainability Forum, representatives of the city, the university and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce planted a robust English oak on the educational field near the university.

Students with disabilities and chronic illnesses may not be able to perform as required in their studies and examinations. How equal opportunity participation in studies can be ensured, here on the intranet.

In the podcast UW/Hörfunk, members of the student initiative Wanderful talk about their travel adventure with secondary school students from Bochum. Under the motto: "Out of school - into nature", the initiative takes off every year to other European countries.
